PET Evaluation Checklist

Although PET is a non-invasive procedure performed under local anesthesia, it requires a minimum level of preoperative evaluation, as follows:

1. Patients over 65 need a PMD clearance.

2. Patients with chronic disease such as HTN, Diabetes, autoimmune disease need to be under control and require the private medical doctor clearance.

3. Patients over 65 with cardiac conditions need complete cardiac clearance.

4. Patient with pace makers or any implant device need clearance from her doctor.

5. Patients underwent cancer treatment need specialist clearance.

Patients for whom PET is contraindicated (cannot undergo the PET procedure):

Patient allergic to epinephrine or lidocaine.
Patient with acute infection.
Patient with scalp medical conditions or acute hair loss.
Patient taking immune suppressor drugs.
Patient with uncontrolled chronic medical conditions such as HTN, Diabetes, cardiac disease, autoimmune disease, psoríase or herpes.
Patient with advanced skin laxaty.
Patient under treatment of any new medical condition.
